First, when it was established in 1936, it was known as Hailey National Park and the second time it was changed to Ramganga National Park this was done after Independence.   • When the national park was established park was just 323.75 square kilometers which was quite big but in the year 1966, the park expanded to 520.82 square kilometers. This expansion of the area made a quite great habitat for the animals, especially for the tigers living in this protected area.

  • 73% of the Jim Corbett National Park was covered by trees and 10% of the national park is covered by grassland and most of it is the Sal tree.
