Corbett National Park is Set to Open from November 15, 2025
After the annual monsoon break, Uttarakhand’s two most popular wildlife destinations – Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve and Rajaji Tiger Reserve – are all set to welcome tourists once again from November 15. With the reopening, wildlife lovers will get the opportunity to enjoy day safaris, night stays, and jungle tours amid the breathtaking landscapes of these tiger reserves. According to officials, the forest department and state tourism authorities have completed preparations for the upcoming tourist season. Online safari bookings are now available for Dhikala, Durga Devi, Sona Nadi, and Vatanvasa zones of the Corbett Tiger Reserve. Among these, the Dhikala zone remains the most sought-after area, known for its higher chances of spotting tigers and elephants.
The Bijrani zone has already opened for tourists from October 15, while the Dhela, Garjia, and Jhirna zones remain open throughout the year. Visitors planning to explore the national park can easily make their online safari bookings by providing details such as their identity card number, date of visit, preferred zone, and vehicle information. Each safari vehicle can accommodate up to six tourists at a time.

The main entrance to Corbett Tiger Reserve is located in Ramnagar, Nainital, which is also the most convenient base for visitors. Ramnagar railway station is well-connected to major cities like Delhi, Dehradun, and Lucknow, making access to the park smooth and easy. At Corbett National Park, the charm lies in its picturesque surroundings along the Kosi River, where herds of elephants and rare bird species add to the park’s natural beauty.
Facilities and Responsible Tourism Guidelines
Jim Corbett National Park provides various accommodation options ranging from forest rest houses to private resorts. Tourists can also find small restaurants and canteens within the park area, especially near eco-huts. In certain safari zones, visitors are allowed to carry their own food; however, they must ensure no littering or plastic waste is left behind, as strict penalties apply for violations. The forest department has issued a clear advisory for visitors. Getting out of safari vehicles, playing loud music, or feeding animals is strictly prohibited. Tourists are also required to follow all safety instructions given by drivers and guides to ensure both their safety and the protection of wildlife.
Established in 1936 as Hailey National Park, Jim Corbett is India’s oldest national park and the first to come under the Project Tiger initiative in 1973. The best time to visit Corbett is from November to June, when the park remains open for all zones and animal sightings are frequent. The winter months offer clear visibility and a pleasant climate, while the summer season increases the chances of spotting animals near water sources.
