The act of sending the third tiger from Corbett National Park to Rajaji National Park is again in the pipeline. Earlier on 24th Dec 2020, the two tigress and third tigers were shifted from Corbett to Rajaji National Park. The main aim of this exercise was to increase the population of tiger and tigress in the Rajaji Park.

The translocation program aims to repopulate Rajaji Tiger Reserve’s western part, which houses only two tigresses that have not been reported raised in roughly a decade.

Uttarakhand’s tiger relocation project was postponed during the monsoon and will be resumed with the translocation of another tiger and tigress from the Corbett Tiger Reserve to Rajaji Tiger Reserve. As in monsoon the things were delayed now in full swing, relocation process will go on.
