State Election Halts Demolition in Corbett National Park

The illegal construction in the Corbett Tiger Reserve is enquired by the Ministry of Forest, Environment and Climate Change. This action made the forest official finally takes some major action to eradicate this issue. Some of the buildings built inside the Morighatti areas of the reserve have been brought down, but illegal construction in the Pakhrau area of Kalagarh still remains unharmed.

The government always takes the park into consideration and sent the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) members to Corbett National Park for checking the illegal creation in September last year. 

The construction work imbibes the development of the water body and widening the road of the forest to make it a highway. The approval of the around Rs. 25 crore for investing in the forest construction and reportedly spent amount is 157 crore. 

It is unlock hush-hush that the District Forest Officer (DFO) is close to Uttarakhand Forest Minister Harak Singh Rawat. The minister confessed before the media on many events that the construction activity in Corbett was part of a plan to commence a tiger safari in keeping with the pace of the wishes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
